Photographers Without Borders (PWB)

Photographers without Boarders was established to assist small local NGO’s with having access to quality photography to meet their needs. The organisations they partnered with were all concentrating on one or more aspects of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals set by the United nations.

I spent two weeks at the Happy Kids centre in Bhaktapur a historical suburb within Katmandu. This centre was set up following the devastating earthquake in 2011 and provided a safe place for children to be children.

In addition to looking after the young children they operated a Marriage prevention program. This provided young women the opportunity to make bracelets which they could sell, the money being held for the to increase their dowery  so they could wait until they were well into their teens before being married.
